Places to lay your head at night:
Agoda– Amazing website to find hotels in Taiwan. In 2018, they partnered with the LGBT travel platform TravelGay to provide valuable information on accommodations for the community. Extremely easy to navigate and book a hotel quickly without much effort
The In-house hotel is a great place to stay if you are visiting Taipei. Location is great. I was able to navigate the city with ease. They’re very close to night markets and I could easily walk to LGBTQ sites I wanted to see. The room is very comfortable. They had a huge bed, and a great bathroom.
The continental breakfast they offer was really tasty. In Taiwan, there aren’t many gluten-free options but there were some choices. You can always have fresh fruit and vegetables. There are also vegetarian options. The price was a little higher than I’ve paid at hotels ($1,500 NT or 50$ USD) but to me its worth it!
Adventures
If you are in Taiwan, I highly recommend the Bivy Rock Climbing Guides. They are a husband and wife who are very kind and love what they do. Kelly is the best. If you want to challenge yourself, check them out here.
Raymond and his wife offer concierge service and can arrange your whole trip for you to Xiaoliuqiu. It’s extremely convenient, especially if you don’t know Chinese.
Escape to Lambai (Xiaoliuqiu Concierge)
If you are interested in learning about freediving and taking a course on Xiaoliuqiu, this is the man for you.
Sheila has her own massage company in Xiaoliuqiu. If you are on the island and want to unwind, set up an appointment.
